I have worked professionally since 1999 but I guess you could say I have been in the
industry my whole life. Hair is a way of life for me. The beauty industry is in my blood.
Both my mother and grandmother were Cosmetologists and I have gladly followed in
their footsteps. At age 11, I was a shampoo girl, by 16 I was going to Beauty School
and High school at the same time and by I was 19 I had finished both schools, and I
was working at a salon under an apprenticeship with Michel Botbol. At 20 I had my
own chair and was a full-fledged stylist.

After a few years, I left to try something different by going to another salon where I
had the chance to do both cutting and coloring. Once I built enough of a clientele the
opportunity came to work for myself, so I jumped at it. I worked at a salon renting my
own chair for one year, until I discovered the Colour Room, where I finally found the
perfect home for my skills and true passion for my work.

Joining the Color Room staff in 2006, I feel that it is an environment that truly lets me be
me and has made me not only a better stylist, but a better person. I know this because
it shows in my work. Since starting at The Colour Room, my wedding business has
taken off because it allows me to do on-site special occasion hair. Also I am now
known for my keen ability to cut and style unruly, curly, and texturized hair. Having
really honed my cutting skills I often hear, “I didn't have to come back so soon because
my hair grew out so well!" from my satisfied customers. I currently use Schwarzkopf
Professional Hair Color which allows me to be more creative by taking continuing
classes…and chances.

In every salon that I have worked in, I have learned something new. First, it was
precision in my cutting and blow drying techniques. Next, I learned the craft of coloring
hair, and when I first rented my own chair I learned a lot about the right way and the
wrong way of to work for yourself. I went with my instinct when I moved to The
Colour Room. And my instincts were right - It is a safe-haven for the self-employed
Stylist! I love being a Hairstylist, Cosmetologist, Barber, and Hair Stylist. My work, the
people (i.e.: my co-workers and especially my clients) have all made me the
successful stylist I am today.
